We Remember

Dr. King is remembered for many accomplishments, a pioneer for the civil rights movement among other things. He was known for his style and wit, grace and intelligence, as well as the rare gift for seeing things objectively. One of the world`s best known bands, U2, wrote a song called Pride (In the Name of Love) released with their 1984 album The Unforgettable Fire in dedication to Dr. King and it is no celebrity secret of Bono`s (U2`s lead singer)that he holds a fascination of this incredible man. By the way, here`s a fantastic video version in dedication to Dr. King we thought you might enjoy:www.youtube.com/watch

Paul David Hewson, better known as Bono, often dons a Rolex Datejust just as Dr. King himself often did. Martin Luther was rarely seen without his Yellow Rolex Datejust and in many watch admirers opinions ,he was the greatest hero in Rolex history. He defined the word ``hero`` and embodied every aspect of the word in everything he did--even sacrificing his own life for his cause. Many inspirational men and women have worn Rolex`s throughout their lives but none have been as burned into our memory or conscious minds of what`s right and what`s wrong as Dr. King. It is often wondered if Dr. King was inspired by the beauty of his watch just as President Eisenhower was by his own Datejust Rolex, trying to reflect the beauty of the world around him through his watch of choice. Whatever his reasons were for embracing acceptance and diversity, as well as daring to dream of a better world--Martin Luther King Jr. has left a deeply profound mark on this world, and the world of Rolex.
